The Broadleaf Group Banking Division Announces Formation of BSA/AML Roundtable

The Broadleaf Group Banking Division announces the first quarterly Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-money Laundering (BSA/AML) Roundtable to address compliance challenges and solutions. It will take place on Tuesday, February 3rd, at the Richard Nixon Library in Yorba Linda, CA.

For banking professionals looking for guidance from expert consultants and peers, this is a valuable opportunity to join together to raise issues and collaborate on best practices. BSA/AML expert, Delayne Townzen, will lead this roundtable discussion. Townzen, a former BSA Officer, has over 36 years of banking experience and a deep understanding of the compliance process. She’s reviewed and revised BSA programs, automated AML monitoring and alerts, performed self-assessments based on FFIEC manual, trained personnel and participated in a panel of experts at the California Bankers Association Annual BSA Conference.

“We’ve serviced over 200 banks in the last 25 years and we’re frequently asked about compliance issues,” said Hani Ascha, Director of the Banking Division. “BSA/AML is especially challenging for bankers who try to effectively achieve and document CDD and EDD efforts. In 2015, CDD/EDD efforts will continue to be closely scrutinized by regulators. Banks need to ensure this data is properly documented. We had an overwhelmingly positive response when we gauged interest in a roundtable that brings banking professionals and expert consultants together to address these concerns, so we decided to sponsor this event.”

The first 2.5-hour BSA/AML Roundtable begins at 11:00 AM and will feature time for introductions, followed by an open forum and advice from experienced consultants. It will wrap up with a Q&A session to address specific situations. A complimentary lunch will be provided.

Those unable to attend the event are invited to join the BSA/AML Roundtable Networking Group on LinkedIn. This group serves as an online gathering place for banking professionals to discuss a variety of topics including:

BSA/Officers General Role and Responsibilities
Employee Training
Current Regulatory Challenges
Enhancing the Risk Assessment
Enhancing Risk-Based Approaches to AML

Broadleaf Group and Cisco Talk About Digital Network Architecture (DNA) and Network Security

While digitization is expected to open a $2.1 trillion global market opportunity by 2019, simultaneously, the cybersecurity market is projected to reach $100B in 2019.* Taking advantage of market growth necessitates understanding the numerous products and solutions available and is a leading cause of consumer confusion and network complexity. Broadleaf Group invited industry leaders to learn more about options available to them through a wide-range of Cisco products.

Concern regarding network control, security threats, increasing costs and ease of operation were topical points of discussion. Integration difficulties surrounding complex technologies, is a frustration that Broadleaf Group and Cisco address by reducing the level of complexity through new network opportunities. As enterprises continue to move to digitizing business, the industry continues to evolve and innovate in complimentary areas including software defined networking (SDN), SDN controllers, network function virtualization (NFV), open API’s, cloud management and other analytical innovations. To continue to reduce risk, security needs to be embedded at all levels of the hardware and software solution.

Organizations continue to adapt, simplify and analyze all while keeping network security at the forefront of new solutions. Broadleaf Group discussed how integrating multiple areas of operation into more feasible and consumable solutions, clients can receive the benefits of a secure software strategy throughout the entire network. Duane Smith, VP of Sales and Marketing added, “Attackers today are more pervasive, persistent and proficient than ever at evading and disrupting traditional security infrastructures. Our goal is to inform and provide options for our clients, so they have the visibility and protection needed to secure their systems.”

Broadleaf Group, a Cisco Gold partner, works within the changing network landscape to offer client solutions that:

Lower risk with a 99.2% Security Effectiveness rating.
Optimize business through app and device enabled awareness and increased roaming.
Reduce complexity through flexible deployment options and security architectures that are simple, open and work with other solutions for easier management.
Broadleaf Group is an industry leader in innovative IT solutions and a Cisco Gold Partner, providing solution expertise to clients interested in digitizing business with less complexity, increased security and lower risk.
