The Network Engineer will be responsible for completing project and ticket work as directed by the project management office. He or she will perform network assessments and deployments per a statement of work and will be expected to provide daily status updates and attend any relevant project meetings. The network engineer may occasionally attend presales engagements or be asked to validate a statement of work.
Technology Competencies:
The network engineer will have a combination of experience and technology certifications to qualify him as competent or expert-level in several or most of the following areas:
- LAN/WAN optimization
- Routing/switching
- QoS
- Network troubleshooting
- Nexus Data Center, including virtual PortChannel (vPC) and Overlay Transport Virtualization (OTV)
- Virtual Private Networks (VPN) – SSL VPN/IPSec VPN/Dynamic Multipoint VPN (DMVPN)
- Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) and Multiprotocol Border Gateway Protocol (MP-BGP) Layer 3 VPNs
- Firewall platforms such as Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, or Fortinet
- Meraki MX, MS, and MR series
Other Skills:

Helpful Certifications:
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
